LAKE COMFORT SUBSTATION

In February 2020, we began working on our most ambitious project to date – a new substation for the Hyde County community of Lake Comfort. On February 25, a Public Meeting was held at the Mattamuskeet Senior Citizen Center where the details and benefits of this project were explained, along with a question and answer period. On January  11, 2022  the site work began, followed by the actual construction. (Check out our "Gallery" tab above for lots of photos!)  In September 2022 we held a dedication and ribbon-cutting for this new facility.  And on November 9, 2022 we were ready to run our first calls out of the Lake Comfort Station. 

CONSTRUCTION BEGAN: JANUARY 11, 2022 (scroll to the bottom and work up to see photos in order) Construction was completed in September 2022.

May 30, 2022: Now that the metal walls, roof, and inside insulation and liner have been installed, the outside lot is being cleaned up.
