In February 2020, we began working on our most ambitious project to date – a new substation for the Hyde County community of Lake Comfort. On February 25, a Public Meeting was held at the Mattamuskeet Senior Citizen Center where the details and benefits of this project were explained, along with a question and answer period. Much work still remains to be done before the substation will become a reality, so check back regularly for updates and photos.

CONSTRUCTION BEGAN: JANUARY 11, 2022 (scroll to the bottom and work up to see photos in order)

June 20-23, 202: Leveling up the site and around the building for the concrete sidewalks and asphalt driveways. 

June 20-23, 2022: Rock is being placed around the ends of the culverts at each driveway. 

June 20-23, 2022: Outside the bay doors, the brackets that will hold the flood doors in place are being installed.
